The One Accessory and Two Brands I Always Pack

Whether traveling domestic or international. Summer or winter. To the beach or mountains. Getting a packing list together takes planning. We have a saying for forgotten items: “there’s always Wal-Mart”. Now as a list person, I keep a running note on my phone of items to pack for any trip such as sunscreen, pool sandals and binoculars. While I change up the outfits I travel with, the one accessory I always travel with is a scarf! Adding items from my two favorite travel brands – Betabrand and Cabana Life – keep my wardrobe fashionable without sacrificing comfort!

Pack a Scarf and Be Prepared!

A scarf is an easy way to dress up a basic outfit. Are perfect airplane coverups – easily put on or removed as cabin temperatures fluctuate. I especially love that they don’t take up much space in a suitcase.

Scarves are great as a wrap for cool evenings. Great protection from the sun. And stylishly stored around a tote bag strap while sightseeing.

One of the best uses for a scarf on vacation however, is to cover your shoulders or knees when visiting a church or cathedral. Most European cathedrals require visitors to cover their shoulders and knees. Are you are touring Milan in a sleeveless top?  Drape a scarf around your shoulders before entering the beautiful Duomo. Staying cool touring Venice in shorts? Wrap a scarf around your waist before entering St. Mark’s Cathedral.

Bellagio Silk Scarves

Looking to purchase a souvenir for yourself? Or for friends and family? Scarves make the perfect gift because they don’t take up much space in a suitcase. I always purchase scarves made in the area we’re visiting. I’ve purchased scarves from Greece, Ireland and Italy. During our recent trip to Lake Como, I purchase some Bellagio Silk Scarves as gifts – and one or two for myself!

Two Brands Always in my Suitcase

We all love what we love, right? No commissions earned here – these are just two brands that I love. They are some of my everyday pieces – but I especially love them for traveling.

Dress Yoga Pants

If you’re looking for the ultimate pair of pants that you can dress up or down – look no further than Betabrand! They are perfect for year-round all-day wear. Their wrinkle-free fabric makes them not only my every day go-to pant but the perfect pair to wear on an airplane or a road trip. They come in petite, regular and tall options – ideal for every body type. I probably have 10 pair of these comfortable pants in my closet – and one or two pair are always packed in my suitcase.

Swim and Resort Casual Wear

The Cabana Life brand was designed to provide protection from the sun. Their co-founder is a melanoma survivor – and their fashions are designed with fabrics to help others avoid this deadly disease. I originally fell in love with their swimsuit collections but quickly added pieces from their other lines. They offer family coordinating pieces for the ultimate vacation photoshoot. Also wrinkle-resistant, they are perfect for traveling.

If you’re looking for some new everyday or travel favorites, go check out these two brands. Then grab your packing list and remember to include the one accessory you’ll use no matter when or where you travel. Whether you travel the world in a carry-on (definitely not me) or a full matching set of luggage (guilty) – be sure to pack a scarf (or two)!
